PoolParty Semantic Suite is Semantic Web Company’s platform for enterprise information integration based on Linked Data principles. PoolParty consists of several components that process and manage RDF based data sets. These components have consistency requirements towards the data they work on. Also, users have requirements towards the quality of the data they manage.

“STIP Compass” the EC-OECD international Database of Science, Technology and Innovation was launched 26 April 2018. It is a joint effort between both the European Commission and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which provides information on over 7000 policy initiatives from more than 50 countries, collected  through the EC-OECD STI Policy Survey.

Springer Nature SciGraph is a scholarly linked data repository hosting more than one billion triples about publications, grants, conferences, organizations and many other objects that are linked to the publishing activities of Springer Nature.

We have witnessed a fundamental shift in the last few years as public search engines such as Google, Bing and Yandex have enhanced their services with web-scale knowledge graphs and massive extraction of semantically rich structured data from public websites.

A core activity of the RCE is to make cultural heritage information available. Currently this is inefficient in both resources and people. Information products are not available, usable and (legally) consistent. Information is also not offered in conjunction and not easy to combine. This is not something you want to offer to your internal and external customers.  
 

There is a tremendous push to introduce autonomous vehicles. Politicians are offering trials on public roads, companies announce activities in this area in order not to be seen as backwards.

Wikipedia has long been the place to look up information about all sorts of subjects. In 2012 Wikimedia (the organization behind Wikipedia) started Wikidata: a central storage for the structured data of its Wikimedia sister projects including Wikipedia, Wikivoyage, Wikisource, and others.

In this presentation, we will show how a legacy relational database, used for a successful business application is efficiently replaced by a new and sustainable model, using semantic web technologies and model driven database engineering.

Keeping taxonomies up to date is a labour-intensive and hence expensive endeavour. An obvious approach to save costs is to automate at least some of the manual tasks involved in maintenance. Vacancy text provides good insight into the language employers and HR professions currently use when describing job openings.

While computers and networks have dramatically changed many areas of society, knowledge exchange in research still follows traditional paradigms - the discussion in this topic is devoted on how we can facilitate the paradigm shift from document-based to knowledge graph based information exchange in science and technology.
