LLOD-driven Bilingual Word Embeddings Rivaling Cross-lingual Transformers in Quality of Life Concept Detection from French Online Health Communities

We describe the use of Linguistic Linked Open Data (LLOD) to support a cross-lingual transfer framework for concept detection in online health communities. Our goal is to develop multilingual text analytics as an enabler for analyzing health-related quality of life (HRQoL) from self-reported patient narratives. The framework capitalizes on supervised cross-lingual projection methods, so that labeled training data for a source language are sufficient and are not needed for target languages.

Powering Diverse Clinical Applications through Elsevier’s Healthcare Knowledge Graph

Knowledge Graphs are increasingly being developed and leveraged in academia and industry to tackle complex biomedical challenges, such as drug discovery and safety, medical literature search, clinical knowledge management, and disease monitoring. In this talk, we will present the research and development on Elsevier’s Healthcare Knowledge Graph, a platform built to power advanced clinical decision support and enhanced point-of-care content discovery for clinicians and patients.

Semantics for nursing home quality

At ZiN a design an implementation is being made for better quality reporting from nursing homes in The Netherlands. A program called kik-v.nl is executed. Each nursing home will get a RDF datastation that can be queried by other organisations that are interested (or forced) in health and financial quality data e.g. Nederlandse Zorg Autoriteit.
The goal is to lower the administrative pressure healthcare providers have. Public organisations want to have detailed figures about spendings.
